What To Expect When booking this Great Barrier Reef aerial adventure, you have five tour options to choose from, all of which depart by seaplane from the Whitsundays Airport.
Panorama Tour: 4.5 hours total duration; 1.5 hours of flying time.
The most comprehensive of all four tours, this half-day experience starts with a seaplane flight over Heart Reef, a heart-shaped coral reef that can only be appreciated from the air, before landing at Hardy Lagoon, where can go snorkeling and enjoy a glass-bottom boat tour. Then head to Whitehaven Beach for an hour of relaxation on this stretch of bright white sand. Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine while you marvel at the aquamarine water, and stay hydrated with water, fruit juice and light snacks.
Reef Adventure Tour: 3 hours total duration; 1 hour of flying time.
On board the seaplane, soar over to Hardy Lagoon, taking in a view of Heart Reef during the 30-minute flight, and then land on the water for your glass-bottom boat tour,. With its underwater viewing chamber and snorkeling platform, the boat offers up-close looks at the marine life and reef in the calm water. You have one hour on the boat and another hour of snorkeling time; if you don’t want to get in the water, you may stay on the boat, relaxing on the sun or shade decks. Flotation devices, snorkel gear and instruction are provided, as are fruit juice, Australian sparkling wine, water and light snacks.
Whitehaven Experience: 2.5 hours total duration; 30 minutes of flying time
Fly by seaplane to Whitehaven Beach, known for its stunningly white silica sand. During your 15 minute flight to Whitehaven Beach listen to your pilot’s narration while soaring over the swirling sands of Hill Inlet. After a smooth landing, you have one hour and half on the beach to relax in the sunshine and go swimming. Sparkling wine, water, fruit juice and light snacks are provided, as are beach umbrellas so you can stay protected from the sun.
Reef and Whitehaven Flight: 1 hour total
Take off in your seaplane for a scenic flight over the Whitsundays, gazing down in awe at Heart Reef, lush isles and white-sand beaches that dot the sparkling blue Pacific. Fly over Whitehaven Beach for an aerial view of its bright white sand. This tour includes a Touch-and-go water landing at the Great Barrier Reef (subject to weather conditions).
