Visitors to the CBD shopping precinct can join in the interactive big-screen experience and download the World Square app to walk through the Torii Gate and see the centre explode into a Cherry Blossom spectacle through augmented reality.
Join them in the Square every 15 minutes daily to help the digital Cherry Blossom tree bloom by playing a series of AR games including a Taiko drumming circle, Calligraphy dancing or the Nara Park deer encounter.
Cultural activities will run throughout the last two weeks of the festival including traditional Japanese drumming; calligraphy performances; personalised origami and bonsai workshops; and traditional Yosaki Soran dancing.
Visitors can also test their paper-folding skills and contribute to the 1,000 cranes origami challenge, brew matcha flavoured tea with T2 or make their own sushi with Sushi Hub during the festival.
